Abide Home Church

HE IS OUR GLORY

Jesus is our glory and treasure. He is our everything. Because of Jesus, we desire to be with Him, become like Him, and do what He did & taught. All of us our broken, but we have gratefully accepted Jesus' invitation to follow Him in the most intimate relationship imaginable.

Bible

What We Believe

We are not affiliated with a denomination. We believe in the whole Word of God. It is all God breathed and useful for us, in all times. Jesus Christ is the one true God. His death and resurrection are our only source of salvation. All of us have sinned. There must be a true repentance from all who follow Christ. We hold onto the fact that every follower of Jesus must be born of water and Spirit. It is the Father's desire to have us worship Him in Spirit and in Truth. So, we strive to be grounded in Scripture and full of the Spirit. We believe it is every follower's birthright in Christ to receive the power of the Holy Spirit. Receiving this power from the Holy Spirit does not add or take away from one's salvation. However, we believe it is a necessary equipping for us to proclaim the Gospel in power and make disciples of Jesus, which is our aim. We adhere to the New Testament teaching of deliverance from unclean and evil spirits. Every follower of Jesus has the authority to drive out demons and heal in Jesus' name. If you have questions about or want deliverance, please visit the deliverance tab up top.

Our Vision Is Jesus'

We want to be disciples that make disciples of all people, everywhere. Specifically, we are being led by the Spirit to see new disciples multiplied into churches that meet in homes all across KC. It is Jesus' disciples that make up His family and get to cry out Abba Father. Jesus' family is the Church, and we desire to lay down our lives for one another as Christ did for us. We want real church, where we are authentic before Jesus and each other. Where we all humbly confess our need for Jesus' salvation and spur one another toward sacrificial love and obedience to our Lord. We hope for total unity around these claims. All of these beliefs are anchored in the Bible, therefore, we hope to have complete agreement around them.

This Is Our Pursuit

We hold onto this hope of genuine Church, where we don't push gimmicky trends or practice fake love, but where we encounter Jesus' presence in a holy and awesome way - experiencing radical love from the Holy Spirit for each other. May the Father be honored and King Jesus be most exalted by this way of Church.

Generosity Offering

"Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. Each of you should give what you have decided in your heart to give, not reluctantly or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. And God is able to bless you abundantly, so that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work." 2 Corinthians 9:6-8

About Us

PXL_20240810_162634304.jpg

Grant and Alli graduated from Manhattan Christian College, where they then worked at University Christian Church in Manhattan, KS. After following Jesus' direction, they moved to Wuhan, China in 2019 with their daughter Evelyn to be missionaries through Team Expansion. They lived there for six month, when Covid broke out and forced their whole family, including their newest addition, Adeline, to move back to Kansas City. For the last four years, they have coached and trained people all around the world in disciple making. Grant took a pastor position with Overland Park Community Church, where he oversaw all the adult and youth ministries. Alli, now, teaches third grade at Bentwood Elementary. In 2024, Jesus called us to fulfill a decade long dream in planting a house church. With the blessing of OPCC, and through the confirmation of the Lord through His people, our family began Abide Home Church in October, 2024.
